Designer Family Workshop
Tittle: Designer Family Workshop
Motto: "Family Builders are Nation Builders"
Target Group: Ministers-in-training, Ministers, Couples(Husbands and Wives)

Testimony: I have conducted about 50 weddings over the last 30 years. I do a yearly marriage-check-up with about 40 of them (ie. post-marital maintenance). It is named FEAST (Family Enrichment, Affirmation of Stability and Thanksgiving).

Reason: It is patterned after Israel's feast - a time of thanksgiving and affirmation. Our families/marriages should reflect the glory of God to those in our community/"sphere of influence". Stable families are "bridges for God" to the community.

The Reality: Broken families are becoming a common feature in the Christian community. This is not being addressed sufficiently. This results in dysfunctional families, bringing dishonor to God and deep hurts to family members and relatives. The church needs to address this by teaching God's design for families/marriages.

Session 1 (40 minutes)
Laws of Design: Law of Design, Law of the Holy Spirit versus the Law of Sin and Death, Law of the Harvest, Law of Diminishing Returns.

Session 2 (45 minutes)
Designer Sexuality. God's Perspective on Love, Sex and Marriage. Originally designed as a teaching program for 10-13 years-old to encourage them to stay within God's parameters in this area as they grow up.
A balanced perspective of the issue of masturbation will be presented. The dangers of pornography will be identified.
Growing children/young people will be encouraged to have "parallel friendships" through their growing years until they are working adults.
Then as God leads them to marriage, they will give their heart "once and for all" to the partner of God's choice.

Session 3 (45 minutes)
Designer Marriages: What is God's Design for marriage? The premise of our relationship: unconditional love and total acceptance. The practice of our relationship: Continual forgiveness and Continual encouragement. The importance of viewing your spouse as "complete in Christ" always.
How to maintain the quality of the core-areas of your marriage: Spiritual Intimacy, Emotional Intimacy, Sexual Intimacy.

Session 4 (45 minutes)
Intimacy Without Shame: What is God's design for sexual intimacy? Some thoughts from Proverbs and Song of Songs. Clarification of lots of misunderstanding in this area. The problem of negligence/deprivation in this spouse-to-spouse ministry has led to distractions ("law of compensation") and broken relationships and adulteries.
A quick focused study of Proverbs 5:15-20. What is it to "drink from your own cistern?" (A parallel illustration/analogy: "making food from your own kitchen to bless each other").
How can couples minister to each other in this area: different ways as per time availability. Some recommendations will be presented.

Conclusion: Time for questions and answers, reflections, testimonies. If possible, a meal together, or some refreshments.
